I finally had a chance to read it. Well it certainly is beautiful drawing. At first I felt a bit disoriented by that because here I am reading about the Holocaust and admiring the pretty pictures. But it really comes together well as the story unfolds so that does not really become a conflict and does indeed strengthen the theme. The rabi's story is particularly effective and the closing scenes. The writing goes to pretty good depths and in many ways is just as impressive as the art. Altogether solid. I very strongly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet. It defintely deserves a prominent spot on the comics literature book shelf.
